Lyallpur Khalsa College organised special 'Kirtan Darbar' devotional recitation program in College Gurudwara Sahib

Jalandhar, March 2, 2019: The Music Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College organized a special 'Kirtan Darbar' devotional recitation program in the College Gurudwara Sahib as a part of the series of programs marking the 550th Gurupurab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Teams from various colleges of the region recited kirtan on this occasion while Dr.Kanwaljit Singh from Gurmat Sangeet Department, Punjabi University Patiala along with Prof.Arshpreet Singh and Ustad Om Parkash Thapar displayed an array of traditional religious musical virtues as exemplified by Guru Nanak Dev ji. College Principal Dr.Gurpinder Singh Samra welcomed and thanked the guest artists for their participation in the religious music initiative. As a part of this program, disciplined and respectful gathering greatly benefited from the devout kirtan that was recited for a duration of nearly 4 hours. During the presentations, the immensely talented Music department of Lyallpur Khalsa College lead by Prof. Sukhdev Singh, Head of the music department, Prof. Pavittar Singh and Prof. Gurchetan Singh also paid genuflection with their recitations. The stage was managed by Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon.
