Ludhiana ready to get beautiful city entry points

Ludhiana, August 21, 2016: In the coming few days beautiful city entry points will welcome the visitors as well as the residents as the beautification of city entry points is going on at full pace.

Apart from this, beautification of main chowks is also on. The Municipal Corporation Ludhiana (MCL) is getting these entry chowks beautified.

The chowks which are being beautified include Jalandhar Bypass Chowk, Sherpur Chowk, Gill Chowk and Samrala Chowk. Along with installation of these structures special plantation drive is going on during monsoon season. The MCL will spend Rs.12.13 crores on the entire project. The foundation is almost ready for designing of these chowks.

The civil structure for the beautification of the Jalandhar Bypass Chowk and Sherpur Chowk is under construction. The RCC grills are also being installed on the central verge from Ambedkar Chowk to Buddha Nullah. The work on central verge between Sherpur Chowk and Vishwakarma Chowk has already started.

Along with this, Aarti Chowk and Mini Fountain Chowk near Rakh Bagh are also being beautified with the help of SPS Hospital and Cremica. The work is going on at full pace at both the chowks. Meanwhile, the Indian Summer is doing beautification of island opposite Verka and Ritesh industries is handling the Samrala Chowk.

The MC Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said, "The beautification work is going on at full pace and city would get a new look especially the entry points. We are also planning 12 laning of old GT road between Jagraon Bridge and Sherpur Chowk."
