FARMERS CAN VISIT CONCERN CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES FOR CHECK: DEPUTY COMMISSIONER LUDHIANA

LUDHIANA, MAY 3, 2018: The district administration of Ludhiana has prepared credit limits' lists of the farmers associated with the co-operative societies and these lists have also been displayed on the notice boards of co-operative societies and co-operative banks.

With this new development, the farmers would be able to take loans from the co-operative banks in a convenient manner and entire loan process would become more transparent.

Divulging the details, the deputy commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal said that under the debt-relief scheme of Punjab Government, the revenue records of farmers have been uploaded into a specially designed software due to which farmers would not have a need to visit the societies repeatedly for preparation of their credit limits.

All this has become a reality due to concrete efforts of the co-operative, revenue and other departments, he added.

He revealed that these credit limit lists have been prepared on the basis of the land record details given by the farmers and same have been verified by the revenue department.

DC also stated that farmers don't have a need to bring mutation (fard) in the societies for preparing credit limits and if any farmer has objection on the list, he can contact societies' officials with his fard.

Agrawal made it categorically cleared to societies that no one of the farmers should be harassed and asked officials to create awareness among farmers.
