Ludhiana Breaking News- Ludhiana architects second in country

Ludhiana, December 9, 2014: The Indian Institute of Architects – Ludhiana Centre won the IIA Best Centre Runner Up Award 2014 out of all Indian cities. This is the first time that any Centre in Punjab has been honored with this award.
The IIA Ludhiana Centre is actively involved in an extensive array of activities from seminars to campaigns, conferences, expert lectures, panel discussions to corporate meets. The current team of IIA-LC, under the guidance of Chairman Ar Sanjay Goel, has organised maximum functions/ events in the history of IIA-LC.
IIA – LC played a key role in the preparation of the first ever edition of Architect’s Directory of our region and also in the organization of the first International Conference on Architecture, NICHE-2014 in Punjab which was held at Lovely Professional University. A delegation of Architects of IIA – LC also visited China’s Building Material Industry during September 2014 mainly catering to Interiors to have first hand detailed knowledge about various products.
IIA – LC organised a seminar on air, water and noise Pollution in Ludhiana city and suggested certain solutions. “The Architecture and Design (A&D) Summit” was also organised at Ludhiana, that witnessed participation from interior fit-out manufactures, regional architects, interior designers  and academicians. With the theme of “Tradition And Modernity In Contemporary Practice”, the conference was aimed to focus on hosting top level architects and design professionals to deliberate the much needed transition required by the upcoming metro cities to create a unique identity and transform them into a “Smart City” which will be capable of sustaining the brisk population growth.
Many other events were organised in the city throughout the year to safeguard the future of Ludhiana and to uplift the profession of Architecture.
The winning teams will be awarded on December 13, 2014 during IIA National Convention 2014 at IIT, Powai, Mumbai at the Valedictory Function, said Sanjay Goel, Chairman, IIA LC. A delegate of Architects from Ludhiana comprising of Chairman Ar. Sanjay Goel, Joint Secretary Ar. Harinder Boparai, Group Administrator & Coordinator Ar. Rajan Tangri, Press Secy./Editor Ar. Bimaldeep Singh, Execuive Committee Members Ar. Tarsem Goyal,  Ar. Amit Sanyal and Aashima Gupta will be attending NATCON – 2014 from December 11-December 13,2014.
