BANKS HAVE TO SUBMIT CERTIFICATE OF NOT HAVING ANY BLANK CHEQUE OF FARMER UNDER KISAN CARD CREDIT SCHEME Ferozepur, March 18, 2019: The deputy commissioner Mr Chander Gaind on Monday directed the banks to keep a strict vigil on any deposit of cash or withdrawal of cash exceeding Rs.1 lakh from bank accounts as the money may be used for bribing the voters. Presiding over a review meeting with banks, the deputy commissioner asked the bank managers to report the district election office about those bank accounts in which no transaction happened in the last two months and after the imposition of the code, sudden deposit or withdrawal have been started witnessing. He clearly ordered the banks to keep a tab on those accounts too in which the funds are being transferred by Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS). Mr Gaind said that the banks must have to report the election office if any deposit or withdrawal more than one lakh has been witnessed in the account of candidates. He said that all concerned performas have been sent to the banks which have to be sent by the banks to the district election office to keep a tab on the suspicious transactions. Mr Gaind stated that the banks must use official cash vehicles for the moving the cash from one branch to another branch and bank staff must have the lists regarding bank’s name, branch name and cash details. Lead Bank Manager Mr RK Gupta told the deputy commissioner that district has achieved 53-percent annual capital plan in three previous quarters till December 31, 2018, besides 56-percent agriculture loans, 50-percent in MSME sector and 23-percent other section. He said that Ferozepur has exceptionally performed in the cash ratio target as it has achieved 112-percent mark as the target was 60-percent. The deputy commissioner also showed annoyance over the worst performance of the banks in the issuance of loans. He also asked the banks to submit the certificates by March 26 that under kisan credit card scheme they have not any blank cheque of any farmer. On the occasion, District Lead Bank Manager Mr RK Gupta, RBI assistant chief manager Mr BB Sharma, NABARD District Development Manager Mr Rajesh Kumar and others were present in the meeting.
