Lohri celebrations make students happy and enthusiastic

Jalandhar, January 13, 2015: Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions Loharan, Jalandhar celebrates Lohri on the college campus in Loharan. All the students and the staff members were in a festive mood to enjoy the Lohri in the chilling weather condition. The culture of singing Lohri songs and asking for Lohri by the students from their teachers was great and exciting.

Dr. Anup Bowry Secretary Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, put light on the theme of Lohri celebrations. This festival has a great significance in our social system and as per the existing practices; the people observe it for the celebration of the birth of a male child and the marriage of their sons. He said that ‘We have to reverse this trend by changing societal attitudes and community practices and establish a novel tradition of celebrating the birth of girl child’. He appreciated the initiative taken by some organisations for synchronising the festive spirit of Lohri with the students. He further appealed the students to celebrate this festival with a positive spirit, collecetiveness, harmony and goodwill among each other.

Further, the students also dance on the tune of various Punjabi numbers. All the faculty staff and students enjoyed the occasion with delightedness among them.
