Ludhiana City Bus Service Ltd starts new route of city bus service

Ludhiana, February 26, 2015: Providing much needed relief to the city residents, the Ludhiana City Bus Service Ltd (LCBSL) has started a new route-from Ayali Khurd on Hambran Road till Bus Stand. This is the third route started by the LCBSL in last one month’s time and three more routes would be started in next two weeks.

Today's route was inaugurated by Dakha MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali by flagging off four buses today.

Baljit Singh, general manager, LCBSL, informed that the new route would start from Ayali Khurd on Hambran Road and would pass through Partap Singh Wala, Sub Registrar Office, Haibowal Choti Puli, DMCH, Arya College, Police Lines, Dandi Swami, Old Court Chowk, Fountain Chowk, Mall Road, Red Cross Bhawan, Bharat Nagar Chowk, ESIC Hospital, Bus Stand, Preet Palace, Atam Park and return.

While speaking at the function, Manpreet Singh Ayali said that this particular route would beneficial for the city residents. He said that it was during the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party regime that the City Bus Service was started in Ludhiana. He said that very soon, more routes would be started in the city.

Ayali said that City Bus Service is a very economical and safe mode of transport. He said that for travelling up to five kilometers, one has to pay Rs 5, for travel between 5-10 kilometers, one has to pay Rs 10, for travel between 10-15 kilometers, one has to pay Rs 15 and for travel above 15 kilometers, a charge of Rs 1 per kilometer would be charged.
