KMV receives Smriti Zubin Irani for Annual Convocation

Jalandhar, March 28, 2015: KMV is organising the Annual Convocation on March 29. Smriti Zubin Irani, Union Minister for Human Resource Development, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest and also deliver the convocation address. About 650 Graduates and Postgraduates from the streams of Science, Arts, Commerce and IT will get their degrees during the Convocation. 
Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal, KMV averred that in 1886 Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, is the premier institution of women empowerment in the Northern India. This temple of learning which has witnessed the visit of 5 Presidents, 5 Prime Ministers and galaxy of eminent dignitaries including Sarojini Naidu, Kiran Bedi, Sheila Dikshit, Ashwani Kumar, Tarun Vijay, Sukhbir Badal and Harsimrat Kaur Badal, have been instrumental in educating many generations of women since 1886. Personalities of the stature and calibre of Smirit Zubin Irani are iconic role models for young women, always inspiring them to excel. Her visit to KMV will motivate our students to tread the path of women emancipation and empowerment with doubled conviction and zeal. 
Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi further maintained that Chander Mohan, President Arya Shiksha Mandal, Alok Sondhi, General Secretary, KMV Managing Committee, Dr. Sushma Chawla, Vice President, KMV Managing Committee and Rajinder Mayor, Treasurer, KMV Managing Committee will also be present along with other eminent citizens. 
Minister Smriti Irani will also inaugurate the Vocational Studies Block. Two publications of KMV- a book on Human Rights and a Journal on Gandhian Philosophy will be released by the Minister on this occasion.
