Kerala Travel Mart gets good response from buyers

Kochi, July 8 (IANS) The Kerala Travel Mart has seen an overwhelming response with 525 international and 1,700 domestic buyers getting their names registered for the event that will be held in Kochi from Sep 18-20.

The sellers' response too has been excellent as all the 245 stalls were sold out in just two days for the eighth edition of the Kerala Travel Mart.

The event is the only travel mart in the country that showcases a single destination - Kerala.

The highlight of this edition is 'A Kerala Village' that will give a glimpse of the rural life of the state.

"The village life presents a wide range of opportunities for the tour operators to create itineraries based on Kerala villages," said one of the organisers.

The state tourism department partners with the Kerala Travel Mart Society in hosting the event which brings together the entrepreneurs and tourism service providers on a single platform in the state.

Britain, Spain, Germany, France and Russia top the list of international buyers for the event.
