Dharamsala, July 19, 2014: Jagdish Sapehia , Chairman of Kangra Central Co-operative Bank (KCCB) claimed that the  bank has been ranked number one in the category of co-operative banks in India.
“Our bank has a working capital of Rs.18000 crore and this figure has not achieved by any co-operative of the country. The bank is operating only in the area of five districts of Himachal and has a amazing customer base of 10 lakh persons. Our bank has earned a net profit of Rs.35.6 crore in the last financial year. We have set a target to increase our profit to Rs.100 crore in the next five years. The bank is providing best infrastructure facility as compare to another banks operating in the region,” said Sapehia.
On Saturday, the KCCB signed a MoU with Sonalika,   a leading tractor manufacturing company of north India. Speaking at this occasion Sapehia said in Dharamsala that the farmers would be provided a special discount of Rs.6000, if it is funded by our bank. “The Sonalika firm has a share of 40 percent in the tractor market of the region, it would definitely improve the revenue of bank,” he added.
KCCB would soon provide ATM card facility to its customers “This facility would start working within next 15 days as the trial had been conducted successfully. We had provided ATM cards for our employees during trial period.  After this, the customers of our bank would be able to withdraw money from the ATM’s of any bank within country,” he informed.
He informed that to improve the customer facilities bank administration was going to make more than 500 recruitments and this process would be completed within year.
Sapehia disclosed that bank was also planning to construct its own rest house at Dharamsala, for which the land has already been identified by the management of the bank near Sidhbari.
