Jila Ram Bansal Unanimously Re-Elected President PAU Retirees' Welfare Association

Ludhiana, May 11, 2015: General Body Meeting of PAU Retirees' Welfare Association held at PAU. In the meeting Harbhajan Singh Bhatia was elected as Chairman for conducting the election of the president of association. Bidhu Sharma purposed the name of Jila Ram Bansal for the post of President and Manjit Singh Mehram seconded his name. General body unanimously re-elected Jila Ram Bansal as president for another consecutive two years.

Satish Sood, General Secretary of the Association highlighted the achievements during the last term of Bansal such as payment of all arrears, leave travel allowance, disbursement of pension well in time. Sood further said that with the efforts of the Executive Committee headed by D.P. Maur Chairman, and Jila Ram Bansal as President, Suvidha Centre in PAU Thapar Hall had already been started its working. Free medical camps were also organized for the pensioners and employees, students also from time to time.

Jila Ram Bansal re-elected president thanked all the members of the general body to show their confidence and trust in him. He assured to work more dedicatedly for the welfare of the retirees and employees. Case of issuance of free medicines to the chronic diseases patients and free cashless scheme for medical treatment would be taken up with the authorities of PAU on priority bases. Mr. Bansal constituted a high powered committee consisting of D.P. Maur, Jaswant Singh Jassi, Harbhajan Singh Bhatia, Manjit Singh Mehram, Satish Sood, Charanjit Singh Grewal, Ajit Singh Cheema, Gurmukh Singh was formed for the formation of new executive council for the association.  Condolences were paid to Smt. Dalip Kaur, sister of Rup Singh Roopa former President, who left for heavenly abode.

Paramjit Singh Gill former President of PAU Employees Union, Labh Singh Chahal, Ashok Mahendroo, R.S. Rangila, Narinderpal Singh, Madam Sapat Kala, Sushil Malhotra, Birbal, Inderjit Singh, Jaspal Singh Panesar, Hakikat Singh Mangat, Santokh Singh, Anup Singh, Tilak Singh Sangra, Ravinder Arora & Jagga Singh, Sohan Singh also shared their views in the meeting.
