Jaiveeer And Amikul Panaich Lift The British School Junior Golf Cup

Chandigarh, April 18, 2016: Jaiveer and Amikul Panaich were declared overall champions in boys and girls respectively in The British School, Chandigarh Junior Golf Tournament held at Chandigarh Golf Club. Jaiveer played the course level par 72 and Amikul scored 10 over par, 82.

In category A (boys), winner was Jaiveer (72), First runner up was Vishav Pratap Singh Gill (76) and second runner up was Amrit Lal (82). In category A (girls), Precious Kelson (87) was the winner, First runner up was Lakhmehar Pardesi (90) and second runner up was Aniyna (97).

In category B (boys), Armaan Sharma (83) was the winner, first runner up was Janish Jeev Singh (84) and second runner up was Suryaveer Bali (84). In category B (girls), Amikul Panaich (82) was the winner, first runner up was Yaali Sai Verma (84) and second runner up was Kudrat B Singh (99).

In category C (boys), Aryan Singh (85) was the winner, first runner up was Zorawar Singh Star (86) and second runner up was Arin Ahuja (87). In category C (girls), Heena Kang (87) was the winner, first runner up was Kaayna Mahajan (97) and second runner up was Maanica Datta (113).

In category D (boys), Ayaan Gupta (85) was the winner, first runner up was Manjot Singh (85) and second runner up was Vasu Sehgal (87). In category D (girls), Jai Kataria (88) was the winner, first runner up was Jiah Kang (99) and second runner up was Hazel (100)

In category E (boys), (9 holes) Aadi Gupta (40) was the winner, first runner up (tied) was Krish Chawla (40) and Nimit Walia (40). In category E (girls), Ananya Pahwa was the winner (41), first runner up was Aanya Nia Sethi (44) and second runner up was Naureen Jauhal (47).

The British School, Chandigarh Junior Golf Tournament was a huge success. A good number of children participated in the tournament in different categories. President, Chandigarh Golf Club presented the prizes to the winners. He applauded the effort of The British School, Sec 44, Chandigarh for promoting golf at the grass-root level and taking golf to the masses. Manjit Kochar, Jt. Director, Academy of Golf, Chandigarh Golf Club said, “Children are performing really well but they need to be nurtured and groomed so that their interest is sustained in the game and they perform well in the years to come.” Mona Sethi, Principal, The British School thanked the The Chandigarh Golf Club for supporting and endorsing The British School Golf Academy. She said, “The British School will hold such junior golf tournaments every year”. The tournament was inaugurated by Director of the Academy Harmeet Kahlon. Participants were also awarded for different competitions such as Nearest to the pin, Maximum pars and Putting competition.
