National Award Winner film Filmistaan's aarti with funny and witty lyrics, is gaining popularity. Actor and writer Sharib Hashmi portrays a movie buff in Filmistaan. Amusingly Sharib has penned down and recorded aartis for numerous Bollywood stars including Katrina Kaif, Amitabh Bachchan, SRK and Salman Khan. Katrina’s aarti has already been uploaded online, which features Sharib singing ‘Jai Jai Katrina’

Filmmakers approached Katrina as they wanted her to hear the aarti as Sharib was very  keen that Katrina hears the aarti. According to sources the actress couldnt listen to aarti as she is out of country shooting for Bang Bang. The source also said that Katrina is a very shy girl and may feel awkward to hear the aarti in her own praise. “She was approached but she couldn’t consider the request as she was too shy about it. Moreover, she couldn’t have said yes as she’s extremely busy right now. She is currently in the UAE where she is shooting for Siddharth Anand’s Bang Bang” says  source close to Katrina

On this Sharib says, “Ours is a country where films are a religion. Just like everyone else. I am a huge fan of Hindi cinema and it's not uncommon for fans to treat their favourite actors and actresses like gods. Keeping this in mind we decided to come up with the idea of dedicating aartis to our cinematic legends.”
