A seminar on Road Safety being held at Ivy World School, Jalandhar. 

Jalandhar, August 11, 2015: A seminar on road safety was organized by Punjab Police at Ivy World School, Jalandhar to inculcate a sense of road safety and correct attitude among students to groom them up into responsible road using a d law abiding citizens.Mr. Dalbir Singh Buttar, ACP Traffic Police, addressed the seminar. He applauded the efforts of Ivy World School for being the first in the city to show the way towards complete safety of the students using school transport.Traffic Police representative Mr. Shamsher Singh, briefed the students on road safety and traffic rulesbringing home the fact that with proper care and traffic rules being implicitly followed a large number of road accidents can be avoided. He said that high speed, overtaking, turning in front of oncoming traffic and a disregard of red traffic lights by drivers were major contributing factors to road accidents and also stressed on the fact that working together with schools for spreading road safety culture in the new generation will create awareness amongst students who are future road users. Mr. Ramesh Kumar educated the students on Road Signs and Traffic Symbols. Later, an interactive session was held in which students asked general queries on traffic rules.
