International Women’s Day at Bajaj College
Ludhiana, March 9, 2019: On 7th February, Bajaj College celebrated International Women’s Day by inviting women from different arenas to share their success stories with everybody. Ms.Roopa Pahwa was the Chief Guest for this occasion. She has been an etiquette, image and style consultant for many years and has been working with clients through her company in various parts of the world including USA, UK, Dubai, Sri Lanka and Nepal. The guest speakers for this event were- Dr.Sukhwinder Kaur (Associate professor in Commerce at Government College for Girls), Ms.Amarjit Kaur Naaz (Principal of Blossom convent school), Ms.Aakriti Khanna (fashion enthusiast and blog writer), Ms.Simrat Kathuria (Nutritionist) and Ms.Parry Vig (Founder of a makeovers and the make-up academy). The event began with a floral welcome and lamp lighting session after which all the speakers addressed the young minds as to how the career journey is even more challenging for a woman as compared to a man. It was amazing to witness that all these women belonged to fields which were poles apart from each other like academics, health, fashion, etc but how their core struggle to be something other than just someone’s daughter or wife was a ground of sharing. Surely, these women present an example of how women today have not only managed to shatter the glass ceiling but also move behind the barriers of gender. At the end, a question-answer session was kept to cater to the doubts of the students after which souvenirs were presented to the speakers by the principal, Dr.Sikha Dhall , Director Ms.Annie Bajaj and the management members.
