Jalandhar, December 3, 2015: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar’s proceedings of the second day of Science INSPIRE Camp being held at the college commenced with an informative talk delivered by Dr. Alex, Saint Paul College, Kalamassery on the prospects of Physical Sciences. Focussing on various research materials being used by NASA, he delved deep into the use of Smart Materials and sensors in the daily use. Elaborating on the definition and their types, he interacted with the scholars and gave illustrations on these property changing materials.
Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi encapsulated the intellectual inheritance of mankind in her Power-Point Presentation. She enlightened the scholars about wisdom of ancient for enrichment of civilization, birth of religions, architectural growth, metamorphosis of cultures and their hybridization through ancient, middle and modern ages.
The post lunch sessions were highly interactive and packed with activities. The practical aspect of Mathematics was demonstrated by the Faculty through Maths Puzzle, Pie symbol and its usage. Ramanujan Number was discussed and a video of Maths museum was also shown to the delight of campers. Some interesting experiments were shown under the theme of “Hands on Experiment” like: Elephant toothpaste, Colorful Rainbow, Magical Flower and Invisible Ink by Dr. Updesh Kaur and Dr. Manju Sahni, Dept. of Chemistry, KMV.
244 meritorious students from 34 schools showed an enthusiastic response during their interaction with Mentors participating in 5-day INSPIRE Camp.
