Jalandhar, February 6, 2016: CT Group of Institutions in association with Radio Mirchi on Thursday has taken an initiative to support the Health of Street Vendors Humanitarian by distributing First Aid Kits in Jalandhar from DC Complex Road (Ladowali Road) to BMC Chowk on Thursday.
The kits were distributed to more than 500 street vendors, rickshaw pullers and auto drivers along with the health and first aid tips pamphlets. The students and faculty members of CT Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CTIPS) imparted knowledge on first aid to be given during accidents, etc.
The event was organized to inspire the street vendors Humanitarian to render immediate help to the injured or the sick and save precious lives. They were given various tips on first aid which they could use to alleviate the suffering and prevent the victim from having serious injuries. A first aider fills the gap between the sick and the physician. They also demonstrated the use of different types of bandages and artificial respiration in cases of asphyxia.
Students demonstrated the scientific method of providing immediate help to the injured like how to give artificial respiration, support broken limbs, tying bandages, etc.
Dr. Kailash Kapoor (Civil Surgeon, Jalandhar) appreciated the effort of the CT Group of Institutions. He said that such activities are need of the hour as street vendors, rickshaw pullers and auto drivers are more prone to road side accidents even they should be capable enough to provide first aid to the injured people while being at the spot.
Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) appreciated the noble cause to apprise and educate the street vendor Humanitarian on first aid. He said, “It is quite evident that rickshaw pullers, street vendors and others do not possess basic first art knowledge. Even when they met with a minor accident as well they are not able enough to help themselves only as they don’t have the basic first aid kit.”
He said, “We, had athought of helping and informing them about the same so we come up with this activity. We are happy to see the smiling faces of those to whom we wanted to help that actually sort our purpose.”
