Students of GGNIMT, Ludhiana during their industrial visit.
Ludhiana, October 14, 2015: Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Ludhiana organised an industrial visit for the MCA 5th semester students. The students were made to visit two IT organizations in SAS Nagar Mohali. In the morning session students visited Solitaire Infosys at phase 7, Mohali. Ms Kanwalpreet Kaur, Head HR, Solitaire Infosys informed that the organization primarily dealt in providing services in the field of Website Development, Web development, Mobile Applications and Digital Marketing. She also made the students visit various departments of the organization to explain the work culture exhibited in IT organization and to build ambition among the budding developers. .Mr. Yogesh Singh, Sr. Software Engineer Solitaire Infosys demonstrated the technology of ‘Ruby on Rails’ and advised the students to equip themselves with the recent technology for better career opportunities.
Later the students also visited SachTech Solution situated at Phase 5, Mohali. Mr Bhuvesh Tangri, Software Developer ,SachTech Solution showcased utility of various Apps in Android environment. Mr. Kapil Kumar, Managing Director, SachTech Solution gave a live demonstration of an app development in latest version of Andriod ie 5.1.
The students had a great learning experience. Nidhi Mishra of MCA 5th semester said that such visits added more relevance to the knowledge imparted in the classrooms. Lovepreet Singh of the same class felt that the visit helped them to know the latest trends of the industry.
Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Co-ordinator, GGNIMT said that the industrial visits are organized by the college with the intent to bridge the gap between academics and industry.
