A delegation of Indian Institute of Architects Ludhiana Centre on Wednesday meets Smart City Consultants AECOM IBM. 

Ludhiana, October 14, 2015: A delegation of Indian institute of architects Ludhiana Centre comprising of Ar.Sanjay Goel, Ar Yogesh Singla, Ar.Rajan Tangri, Ar.Bimaldeep Singh and Ar.Kanav Khosla had a meeting with the AECOM IBM the Consultants appointed by Govt of India for Smart city Project of Ludhiana city, at Zone A office of Ludhiana Municipal Corporation at Mata Rani Complex
As Ludhiana has been selected in top 100 cities of India, AECOM IBM consultants are appointed by the Govt of india  to work on second stage of smart city project
For Ludhiana to be eligible in the selected list of top 20 cities under Smart cities the Consultants have to prepare detailed reports and presentations for a final competition. The consultants have to submit the detailed report by 15 Dec-2015 to the Centre.
Discussions were held on a model Concept of a smaller area which can be replicated in the whole city.The team of   AECOM IBM consultants had extensive discussion with the Administration and public stakeholders of the city. 
Valuable suggestions were given by architects of Indian institute of architects Ludhiana Centre on many issues such as shifting of Bus stand, Development of Villages in the city limits and also develop unplanned areas in city limits.
 Ar. Sanjay Goel, Chairman CHD-PB Chapter Laid special emphasis on the Proposal of Ring Road which shall help in Traffic decongestion.Ar. Yogesh Singla Chairman IIA –LC suggested shifting of bus stand on the periphery of the city.  Ar. Rajan Tangri threw light on preparing a consolidated master plan based on ecology and environment development with a vision of next 30 years. Ar. Bimaldeep Singh discussed a concept of revenue and energy generation from door to door waste collection of the city Homes. Ar. Kanav Khosla emphasised on involving public participation in the discussions.
MTP Mrs Kamaljit Kaur Suggested that a Central District Administrative Complex should be designed which shall have the offices of all town planning agencies for better co-ordination of city planning.
The meeting was also attended by Addl. Commissioner, Senior Town Planner, District town planner, and officials from GLADA, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, Improvement Trust and many other Govt. Bodies.
