Chandigarh, May 9, 2015: Punjab Local Bodies Department today extended the last date up to May 31,2015 to deposit due pending installments with required interest & restoration charges for restoration of properties resumed by various Improvement Trusts in the state after 25.11.13 where due installments etc. had not been paid in time.
Disclosing this here today Mr. Anil Joshi, Local Bodies Minister said that the allottees, who have failed to deposit installments towards the cost of their properties fallen in the ambit of Improvement Trusts could now deposit the amount up to May 31, 2015.
He said that the department of Local Government had earlier floated a special one time scheme for restoration of properties resumed by various Improvement Trusts in the state after 25.11.13 where due installments etc. had not been paid in time. The allottees were allowed to deposit due pending installments with required interest & restoration charges etc. up to 30.04.15 at the level of their respective Trusts and get their resumed properties restored. With this special drive, the department has been able to get Rs. 16 crore from the allottees. There has been a very positive response from the general public and requests were there to extend this scheme so that more and more people could avail the benefits of this scheme and were saved from the hassles of attending appeals at Chandigarh time and again.
Joshi has said that in the larger interest of the general public, this scheme has been extended now up to May 31, 2015 with the hope that more and more people could avail benefits.
