1.) How will you be celebrating Independence Day this year?

I am celebrating Independence Day in a truly independent way, not shooting. Spending it as a holiday and being myself. Obviously these days I can’t go down and hoist a flag. Just being myself is independence for me.

All the years of my school. 15th August used to be the annual function day of my school, because I belong Aurobindo institution and 15thAugust also happened to be Shri Aurobindo’s birthday who was a great freedom fighter.

1.) How will you be celebrating Independence Day this year?

Independence Day has been alwys special to me because it fall in the same month of my birthday. As kids we used to look forward to this day as we had a holiday and we also had cultural activities in school. Like every year I’ll be the part of flag hoisting ceremony in my society. Sweets, yummy food, flag hoisting and some patriotic songs this is how I will be celebrating my Independence Day.

2.) Any favorite patriotic song?

“Aae vatan aae vatan humko teri kasam” is one of my favorite patriotic song. It was always my favorite and I remember the whole lyrics of this song.

3.) One memory related to Independence Day?

I remember one of the year in my school days, where my teacher asked once who is the most patriotic boy in the class. I stood up thinking it is a pride to be the most patriotic boy. She said he will be treated very specially on Independence Day and the special treatment was on the 14th whole night they painted my body with Tri color and on 15th earlier morning they made me perform on a patriotic song with my shorts. Though I became the laughing topic of the school the entire year but I really enjoy it taking as a very fond memory.

Every year I go to some school for flag hoisting. This year too I will attend flag hoisting

My all-time favorite song is Bharat Humko Jaan Se Pyara Hai.

3.) One memory related to Independence Day?

I remember performing in a play in school. I was playing a freedom fighter. I remember tearing up when the song ‘Aey Mere Watan Ke Logon’ was played.

1.) How will you be celebrating Independence Day this year?

This Independence day, I will be attending a local flag hoisting ceremony. 15th August or 26th January are dates which fill our blood with patriotism and brotherhood. On these days, I usually prefer staying home and watching the live telecast of programs from the Capital city. This time however, my sister's impending Ring Ceremony is calling for some quick shopping, so I’ll do some shopping in the evening.

2.) Any favorite patriotic song?

Vande Mataram sung by Lata Mangeshkar is my favorite. I love singing this song. It’s very inspirational. Maa Tujhe Salaam is another favorite. I’ve performed on a lot of patriotic songs in my childhood but this one still gives me goosebumps when I dance on it.

3.) One memory related to Independence Day?

One fond memory- I was very small, maybe in the 1st or 2nd standard and there was a fancy dress competition in school where I became Lt. Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi and my mom had prepared a speech for me. I had learnt it, but was still very nervous on my turn. I performed my act nicely and I was happy that I didn’t forget the speech anywhere. But I was pleasantly surprised to get 1st prize for it.
