Illegal mining totally banned in Ludhiana: DC; Three FIRs lodged within two days

Ludhiana, March 26, 2017: Deputy Commissioner Mr.Pardeep Kumar Agarwal said that illegal mining has been totally banned in Ludhiana district. He further said that senior officials teams have been conducting raids at different places to stop it. He said that three FIR's have been lodged so far within two days of raid. It is pertinent to mention here that the new Government led by Captain Amrinder Singh has given clear instructions to all the deputy commissioners of Punjab to stop illegal mining in their districts.

Mr. Agarwal said that the district and police administration will take every step to stop this practice of illegal mining. He said only legal mining will be allowed in the district. Disclosing further, he said one tractor trolley and three tippers have been caught during the raid by Meharban police and FIR's have been registered against unknown people. Likewise three tractor trollies have been caught during the raid by Machhiwara Police and FIR’s have been registered against unknown people.

Bewaring the drivers of vehicles who carry sand and gravel that must carry the appropriate papers with them to prove that they are not involved in illegal mining. And if the officers are not satisfied with their answers strict action will be taken against them.

He further said that a joint action led by Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) has been taking place wherein all block development panchayat officers, mining officers and police officers are actively participating to stop it. He also requested the common people to report about illegal mining on 0161-2400102.
