Canadian chapter of Indian Overseas Congress delegation meets Punjab Speaker

CHANDIGARH, October 26, 2017: A delegation of the Canadian chapter of the Indian Overseas Congress today met the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana KP Singh and invited him to visit Canada.
The delegation was led by the president of the Canadian chapter Amarpreet Aulakh.
Aulakh told the Speaker that there was a tremendous scope for the Punjab legislators to learn from the Canadian experience.
He said, quite a number of legislators, both federal and local were of Punjabi origin and they were very keen to know and learn about their roots.
Speaker Rana thanked the delegation and appreciated its interest about Punjab. He told the delegation that the Punjab government and the legislators were quite sensitive to the issues and problems of the NRIs.
Responding to its invitation, he said, he will certainly like to visit Canada and interact with the members of the Punjabi diaspora there.
The delegation included Avtar Chimna and Atle Brar besides the PCC general secretary Pawan Dewan.
The Speaker also felicitated the members of the delegation.
