Jalandhar, October 11, 2018: Aiming to promote innovation and consciousness towards environment friendly mobility solution to global society, Lovely Professional University (LPU) & Maruti Suzuki have collaborated to organize 5-day national green mobility competitive event ‘Efficycle-2018’ at LPU campus. In all, 73 teams from across the country are participating to reveal the best of designing and efficiency of their respective ‘EFFI-Cycle’. Cash prizes worth many Lakhs & certificates will be distributed to the winners of different competitions on the final day of the competition on 13th October 2018. It is very unique to see two all girls’ teams competing neck to neck with their male counterparts. This, LPU hosted event is supported by Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL), Indian Oil Corporation, ICAT, and Society for Automotive Engineering-Northern India Section (SAENIS). The third day of the ‘Drive Resilience Season’-competition 2018 witnessed various technical and inspection rounds at LPU Campus. For this, static and dynamic events included cost, innovation evaluations and tests for Electric Drive, Figure-of-8, Acceleration, Brakes, Drive Excellence and more. Winning teams and individuals will be awarded cash prizes from Rs 10,000 to Rs 30,000 each for the Best Design, Innovation, Marketing Presentation, Acceleration, Light Vehicle, Built up Quality, the best participant and more. 300+ LPU student volunteers and 70+ judges and mentors from the top automotive industry are co-ordinating for smooth conduction of mammoth event. Participating students have been inspired with a message from the organizers that “success is not always about greatness, it is about consistency. Only consistent hard work leads to success”. The coined word ‘Effi-Cycle’ has been derived from two words ‘Efficient’ and ‘Cycle’ which provides engineering students an opportunity to conceive, design and fabricate a three-wheel configured vehicle powered by human-electric hybrid power. It is capable of seating two passengers catering to the day to day mobility needs. The aerodynamically designed vehicles are engineered for the best green performance & safety. In fact, this event is a unique platform to encourage students to participate in the technical competitions. Here, students gain more practical knowledge than bookish knowledge.
