Jalandhar, February 28, 2016: The Department of Computer Science & Engineering of DAVIET hosted an Expert talk from IBM Ecosystem Development Team headed by Mr.Mani Madhukar on “New Startups in IT Sector” The expert talk aimed at sensitizing the students from CSE/IT & MCA about the new startups in IT Sector. The resource person of the day was Mr.Mani Madhukar, Cloud partner Lead –South IBM Ecosystem Development Team.
In his Key Note Address, Mr.Mani Madhukar highlighted various success stories of Indian CEO's like Binny Bansal(Flipkart), Vijay Shekhar Sharma(Paytm) , Ritesh Aggarwal (OYO Rooms) and many others. He explained in brief how to set up start up business for fresher students and how to get finance help from the investors like angel investors and ventured capitalist. He gave an overview of new way of recruitment's now days through hackathon. He talked about iciciappathon competition, which is open for all students to submit their ideas and the benefits of iciciappathon competition.
Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal, DAVIET, welcomed the key note speaker to the campus. He stated that I believe that programmes like these will encourage young developers to create world-class new applications on mobile and will strengthen the government’s ‘Digital India’ mission. He stated that we are interested in setting up the Center of Excellence (CoE) in cloud computing at our campus. He also encourages the students to take maximum participation in such kind of competitions. He highlighted that the growth has been reported in this field and students should be given the exposure to it so that they can become the job provider rather than the job seekers.
The expert talk was attended by Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Head, Department of Information Technology , Mr. Parveen Kakkar, Head, Department of Computer Applications, Mr. Abhinav Hans AP (CSE) and by 110 odd students.
