Hyderabad is the most happening business & ICT city in India-ESC Indiasoft 2019 will push up ICT investments in the city
Hyderabad, January 8, 2019: INDIASOFT, international exhibition and conferences, the flagship IT event of Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) to be held in Hyderabad on 4-5 February 2019, will bring over 500 foreign ICT buyers from 60 countries. Close to 250 Indian IT firms and over 20 foreign IT companies of various hues and sizes will display their products and solutions to the discerning buyers. “Participation of foreign companies as an exhibitor in INDIASOFT is a recent development. More and more foreign companies are showing interest in taking part in the show, because of its unique appeal and focus on small and medium IT segment. We hope that their participation will grow. At the same time, our target audience will remain as Indian SMEs and startups,” says Mr. Nalin Kohli, Chairman, Organizing Committee, Indiasoft. He was addressing the media in Hyderabad on the scope and range of the 19th edition of INDIASOFT. Explaining the reason for holding repeat shows in Hyderabad, Mr. D K Sareen, Executive Director, ESC said that the city is the most happening place in the business and ICT sectors in the country, with a string of world technology giants setting up their R&D centers, incubation wings and production bases, taking advantage of the state’s proactive polices. Hyderabad is fast catching up as the nerve center for embedded technology with proliferation of high end- electronics units springing up. Billed as one of the largest shows in the IT domain, INDIASOFT is being held in various cities on an yearly basis. Supported by the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry, since its inception, this year’s show will have several new facets keeping in view the focus laid by the government to usher in a digital revolution in the country. “The two-day show will enable the Indian IT companies to diversify to new and emerging global markets and also assess the changing trend in the global market place and adapt to situations to be in the traction,” says Mr. DK Sareen, said. “ Keeping in tune with the focus laid by the government for promoting startups in the digital domain, we encourage a lot of small and mid size companies and startups to participate at the show to familiarize themselves with the requirements of the foreign buyers,” says Mr. Kohli, adding that Indiasoft is giving utmost importance to showcase the capabilities of the startups, which is paying rich dividends by giving them exposure and business opportunities. Many of them could attract buyers and investors by participating in the show. With its population at 1.3 billion complemented by geographical diversity, India is now at the center stage for attracting newer investments in the e-commerce. It opens up several opportunities for the Indian IT companies for creating technology platforms, content and back office operations for giant e-commerce companies like Amazon, Walmart, Tencents, Alibaba etc for their Indian and global operations. One of the challenges that these internet based platforms are facing is the last mile connectivity to reach out to interiors of the countries they operate. Many Indian startups are specializing in developing disruptive software and creating data base to help such companies to access interiors to tap the market. Such technology platforms will also be in display at the Show. ICT landscape globally is undergoing a transformation and Indian IT scenario would have to adapt to the changing needs of the overseas clients. Application of IT in other business sectors is increasing phenomenally be, it relating to governance, education, day to day handling of small businesses, e-commerce, or for providing services to households. Larger business units are considering IT as a different business activity and are outsourcing such works rather than doing it in-house. Also, a large number of developing countries and leastdeveloped countries are embarking on IT application, which would push up substantially the IT businesses. Mr. Sareen said that INDIASOFT show is designed to project India’s IT capabilities in the tier 2 & 3 cities which are keen to work with their counterparts in new & emerging markets. It will also highlight that Indian software industry possesses unmatchable quality software & services to offer. Responses in the previous editions of Indiasoft Show were overwhelming, particularly those held in the city of Hyderabad. “We expect that this year’s show in Hyderabad will have more business focus on account of the radical changes taking place across the world for digitization and gradual penetration of internet. The delegates from developing and least developed countries, who form a major part of the foreign buyers, will explore the possibilities for entering into long term relationships with the Indian exhibitors in areas like ERP, legal outsourcing, e governance , BPO, KPO, Cloud computing, Big Data Management, Mobile Application Services, Information security etc.” says Mr.Kohli. Mentioning that India has a head start in software development and information technology enabled services (ITeS), Mr. Sareen, opined that around 90 percent of India’s software and ITeS exports is with the US and Europe, wherein the US accounts for the lion’s share at 60 percent. “We at ESC is assiduously pursuing a policy to empower the Indian IT exporters to go up in the value chain by exporting high-ended software and complex solutions to the traditional markets and to penetrate intensely into the markets like Japan, Latin America, Africa, SAARC, CIS, and Middle East. etc ,” he added. INDIASOFT SHOW, seeks to improve the visibility of the Indian software industry especially, the SMEs and the start- up companies in the global IT market.
