Hundred members of “Facilities Management Council Telangana” Cycled 5 kms to promote “Handloom Monday” in the IT industry

Hyderabad, December 9, 2017: Hundred members of “Facilities Management Council Telangana” on Saturday morning Cycled 5 kms to promote “Handloom Monday” in the IT industry. Sporting T-Shirts with Handlooms Monday, they went around pedaling IT companies.

The Cycling was flagged of at DLF at Gachibowli on Saturday morning, travelled to Kothaguda--Cyber Towers--Raheja Mind Space--Phinix Arena --Dell – Oracle—Tech Mahindra and returned to DLF, Gachibowli to create awareness for Handlooms Monday.

Facilities Management Council(FMC) Telangana, the professional body of Facilities Management industry in the Telangana State announced that it has been working towards propagating “Handloom Monday” in the IT Industry.

Nearly four lakh people work in the IT Industry in the city. And if some of them start wearing Handloom clothes at least one day in a week i.e on Monday, it will give a great boost says SatyanarayanaMathala, President of FMC.

We have administered an oath to 250 FMC and IT professionals to wear Handloom clothes every Monday recently at our“5th Annual Facilities Management Council Summit” held in the city informed SatyanarayanaMathala, President of FMC. These include Facilities Management Professionals from IT, ITes, BPO, KPO, Animation, Gaming and Pharmaceuticals.

Everyone must encourage and support to uplift handloom industry to restore its last glory, said Satyanarayana.

​Industries and​ Handlooms Minister KT Rama Rao​, who had earlier got all government employees to wear handloom clothes once a week,​ has ​requested employees in ​the ​Information Technology sector to ​follow suit to promote handlooms and encourage sales ​of the same ​in the State.

Infact the ​Handlooms and ​Textiles department is putting all out efforts to improve the designs and make ​handloom garments more appealing to the present generation, stated Satyanarayana.
