Jalandhar, February 5, 2015: Lt.Nandita Bhardwaj, alumnae of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya was honoured in the morning assembly for her historical achievement.  She lead the first ever Navy Woman contingent of 148 officers and that too in the presence of President USA Barack Obama, Prime Minister Narendera Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee on January 26, 2015 at Delhi.  Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj, Jyoti Kaul, Secretary Alumnae Association and Binoo Gupta, Assistant Secretary, Alumnae Association extended a warm welcome to Lt. Nandita Bhardwaj.  Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj told the students that Lt. Nandita studied in HMV from 2003 to 2008.  She joined the college in +1 and graduated in B.Sc. Biotechnology.  On this occasion, Lt. Nandita Bhardwaj addressed more than 2500 students and encouraged them to dream high; then even impossible things would become possible.  She further urged the girls to consider themselves not less than boys.  She said that freedom of thoughts is quite necessary for girls.  She said that she is a bullet like rider, has done paragliding, 20 mtrs. Deep scuba diving in Lakshadweep and her next mission is to do sky diving with the logo of HMV in her hands.  She thanked HMV and its faculty to make her what she is today.  She was accompanied by her father Sh. S.C. Sharma, Sr. Section Engineer, Indian Railways.
