His Holiness Dalai Lama.

Jalandhar, November 8, 2015: The second phase of 5th Convocation of Lovely Professional University is scheduled for November 14 at 11 am. Nobel Peace Prize winner & Great Spiritual Leader His Holiness 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso will be the Chief Guest at the Convocation. His Holiness will also honour gold medalists and toppers of various LPU academic programs. On the same day, LPU will proudly confer upon His Holiness Dalai Lama the Degree of Doctor of Divinity, Honoris Causa, for his courageous statesmanship, scientific temperament, and universal benevolence.
His Holiness Tenzin Gyatso is a prophet of global peace, committed to promote secular ethics and inter-religious harmony. He has been an exponent par excellence of non-violence, universal compassion, civil- rights, interdisciplinary dialogue between religion and science, and environmental sustainability. His Holiness is the spiritual leader of Tibet.
Seeing the mammoth 20,000+ number of degree recipients of 2015 batch pass outs of both LPU regular and distance education, 5th Convocation of LPU was wittingly designed to be scheduled in two phases. Hon`ble Prime Minister of Lesotho Kingdom Dr Pakalitha B. Mosisili has already blessed LPU students on 31st October 2015 during the first phase. Now, for the second phase of the 5th convocation His Holiness will deliver the convocation address on 14th November 2015. Immediately after the convocation celebrations, LPU Alumni Association will organize a reunion program to know much about the success stories of distinguished LPU Alumni.
LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal informed: “We have specially invited the great spiritual leader to enthuse among youngsters, ready to enter new phase of their life, a great commitment to propagate culture of peace, universal compassion and non violence. This phase of the LPU Convocation is also going to have great aspects as His Holiness will be addressing students with his soulful words of great teachings.  This is, indeed, a great honour for us fourth time in a row that a distinguished Head of a Country has accepted our invitation to be the chief guest at LPU convocation. We also congratulate and invite parents/ guardians of the degree recipients to be part of this rare & memorable occasion.”
