Shimla, August 7, 2015: Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh today laid foundation stone of Rs 112 crore industrial township at  Pandoga in Haroli assembly constituency of Una district.

He said that the area would soon be developed into major industrial hub and Pandoga would prove to be a well connected industrial corridor with reputed business and commercial centres in times to come.  He said that all necessary clearances for the land at Pandoga had been received from the Union Ministry and further handed over to the state industries department. The industrial area was being set up under the Revised Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation programme of the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry for which Himachal Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation would be the implementing agency. He said that a common facility centre would also be constructed  at Pandoga having basic amenities for the entrepreneurs.

The Chief Minister said that Himachal was heading towards becoming industrial hub and the state government, under single window system, had eased the process of clearances for setting up industrial units besides ensuring power at affordable and subsidized rates. He said the government was providing several incentives to the entrepreneurs and HP Investment Promotion Cell had also been set up to facilitate investors.

Besides, industrial towship at Pandoga, more industrial areas were being developed at Kandrori in Kangra with an investment of Rs. 219 crore. A technology centre was being developed at Baddi with a cost of about Rs 147 crore, he added.

He said that industrialisation leads to creation of Jobs for the youth and it was a matter of great pride that Himachal was fast developing as state- of- the-art industrial hub.

Industries Minister, Shri Mukesh Agnihotri thanked the Chief Minister for laying foundation of the industrial area and said that the  state government was committed to providing conducive and  industry-friendly environment to woo the investors  in  sectors like infrastructure, pharmaceutical, horticulture, agro, food and fruit processing, textiles, tourism, hydel etc.

Chairman, State Finance Commission Shri Kuldeep Kumar, MLA Shri Rakesh Kalia, DCC president Shri Virendar Dharmani were also present on the occasion amongst others.
