Ludhiana, January 30, 2015: BML Munjal University (BMU), founded by The Hero Group, held an interactive MBA Open House at Dumra Auditorium, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Tagore Nagar, Ludhianaas part of their outreach programme to familiarise students and parents with their innovative, application-oriented MBA programmes. Key speaker at the event was Sachit Jain, Executive Director, Vardhman Group, who shared Leadership Tips with attendees.

Co-designed by Imperial College London, ranked second among the worlds’ top universities, the 2-year full time MBA programmes at BMU are designed to give students broad-based, hands-on training in order to create ethical leaders who are skilled, knowledgeable, and have the life skills required for leading their organisations to success. School of Management, BMU offers three innovative MBA programmes – MBA, MBA in Accounting and Finance with a focus on Forensic Accounting and Corporate Fraud, and MBA in Business Analytics (in association with IBM).

Dr. Tapan Panda (Dean, School of Management) met prospective students and answered questions ranging from the curriculum structure, internships and innovative pedagogy to campus life, faculty, scholarships tuition fee and placements.

During the event, Dr. Tapan Panda explained, “The focus of the MBA programme would be to harness the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of students. BMU’s unique learning environment will nurture the spirit of enquiry, creativity, and problem solving. The multi-disciplinary, industry-oriented curriculum and inventive pedagogy will make the BMU programme an empowering and enjoyable experience.” Additionally, Dr. Tapan Panda said, “This is a great opportunity to have one-to-one interactions with prospective students. We will be organising similar events across cities to guide parents and students about the right career choices and the unique learning experiences that BMU will offer”.

Keeping the international grading and point systems in mind, BMU follows a multi-dimensional evaluation process to assess an applicant’s suitability for the courses offered by the university. These include entrance exams scores, graduation scores, performance in extracurricular activities, essays, and performances in group discussions and personal interviews.

PROFILE OF DR. TAPAN K PANDA:

Dr. Panda is an alumnus of University of Houston, USA, where he completed an MBA in Global Energy. He holds a PhD in Business Administration. He has worked as a full-time faculty member at 3 IIMs – Lucknow, Kozhikode and Indore. He has also officiated as Director, Indian Institute of Management, Indore before joining Everonn Education Limited (a BSE and NSE listed company) as its president -marketing & corporate affairs. He has more than twenty years of academic experience in marketing, branding and customer relationship management.

He was also Director at Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai. He has visited C.T. Bauer College, University of Houston, Texas, USA; University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA; Fudan University, Shanghai, China; on visiting academic assignments.

He has trained people from reputed organizations like ONGC, GAIL, SAIL, EIL, HUL, LG, AXIS Bank, and TVS Motors. He is a member of American Marketing Association (AMA), National Board of Accreditation (NBA), and AIMA.

He has published extensively in reputed national and international journals and presented in international conferences across the world. He has more than 50 research papers and16 books to his credit. His books include: Sales and Distribution Management (Oxford University Press), Marketing Management (Excel Books), Tourism Management (Orient Longman). He is a regular contributor to business newspapers and magazines; and has participated in CNBC and Zee Business programmes.

He has received a number of awards and recognitions including:
