Health camp organised by Golden Arrow Division at Macchiwara

Jalandhar, May 15, 2018: A medical camp was organised under the aegis of the Golden Arrow Division at Macchiwara. This camp was a part of the civilian outreach initiative on the part of the armed forces to foster greater inclusivity and to strengthen mutual relations between the Army and the civilian populace. The camp was inaugurated by Maj Gen JS Sandhu, General Officer Commanding Golden Arrow Division. Doctors from Combat Healers carried out general health examination to screen for lifestyle diseases, oral health problems and maternal health issues.

A practical hand on demonstration was also organised on Basic Life Support on mannequins to educate the public on the importance of familiarity of this simple technique, by initial responders in saving lives. The army doctors carried out psychological and health counseling on various aspects concerning social issues plaguing our society.

Lectures were delivered on preventive aspects which included importance of vaccination, prevention of water borne diseases and vector borne illnesses like dengue and malaria. An exhibition on various medical issues was also organised.

The camp was a great success with an overwhelming participation of the local population.
