HEADLINE- 35 Housewives Presented PU Certificates

Chandigarh, May 2, 2015: Thirty five housewives of village Dhanas completed a two week course on First Aid and Nursing today, which was organised by Rotary Club Chandigarh together with Dept. of Life Long Learning and Extension, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Certificates for successfully completing the course were presented to the participating housewives.

Rotary Club Chandigarh President, Prof Paramjit informed that this course has trained the housewives to handle emergencies at home or outside home and also to effectively take care of sick persons helping them in changing, feeding, dressing, bathing, etc..

These ladies would also be eligible to take up home nursing assignments too and earn money, he said, and in future Rotary Club shall organise more such skill development courses.  

Prof. Lalit Bansal, Dean Research, Panjab University, Dr. Renu Gandhi, Chairperson, DLLL&E, Panjab University, along with other Rotarians and resource persons from PU attended. 

Prof. Bansal said he would like to see more cooperation for joint activities by PU and Rotary Club Chandigarh for helping the needy and disadvantage persons for increasing their knowledge, awareness and skill. Prof. Paramjit Singh thanked DLLL&E, PU and ensured full cooperation for joint projects. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the Resource Persons. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
