Ferozepur, January 31, 2013: On Wednesday night, on Jalalabad-Fazilka national highway, the car driver crushed the Havaldar on duty at the naka put up near village Sukhera Bodla when he signaled to stop him.
In this incident, the Havaldar died on the spot.
As per the report received from Sadar Police Station, ASI Joginder Singh alongwith his police team had put up the naka from 11 pm to 4 am and during this period, the car (PB-22C-4540) with high speed, coming from Jalalabad side, was tried to be stopped by showing the torch light but the car driver breaking the barrier, hit Harnam Singh Havaldar on duty and crushed him to death on the spot.
The car driver has been identified as Surinder Singh Sidhu, resident of village Shanpura, police station Arniwala.
The police after registration of case, sent the dead body for post-mortem and started further proceedings in this case.
