Chandigarh, May 25, 2015: Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal Khattar today said that the State Government is preparing a scheme to allot land to educational institutions on the basis of personal gain and social interest.  Therefore, the Government would have separate criterion for these two categories  to provide land to education institutions. 

Mr Manohar Lal  was speaking  after laying the foundation stone of multi-purpose hall of Shrimad Bhagwad Gita Senior Secondary School to be constructed at a cost of Rs 4 crore and extension block of Luv Kush Hostel to be constructed at a cost of Rs 8 crore at Kurukshetra today. 

On this occasion, he announced to give Rs one crore for both projects. Apart from this, MP Dr Raj Kumar Saini and Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Mr Krishan Kumar Bedi   announced to give Rs 21 lakh and Rs 11 lakh respectively for these projects. In addition, the school students and the alumni of school also announced to give Rs 11 lakh and Rs 21 lakh respectively.

He said that so far the people are not satisfied with the education system in the State. The result of examination of class X declared recently remained only 31per cent and the combined result of class XII of both government and private schools remained 54 per cent.  

He said that an agreement would be signed between the government schools and private educational institutions so as to bring qualitative improvement in the education system and to provide quality education to the children. He said that besides providing education, Vidhya Bharti Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sansthan has also been infusing moral values of life among the children in various States in the country including Haryana. He also offered land to the Sansthan   in any district of the State to set up a school.

While recalling his old memories associated with this school, the Chief Minister said that he had never thought that one day he would lay the foundation stone of any complex in this school as a Chief Minister. He also became emotional while sharing some special moments which he had spend with his father during a camp at this school. He said that as a result of the values which he got in this school, he has been assigned the responsibility of serving the people of the State as Chief Minister. He assured that he would discharge his responsibility with utmost honesty and would make efforts to resolve the problems of the people.

Lauding the role of Vidhya Bharti Shiksha Sansthan, Mr Manohar Lal said that the Sansthan is running about 23,000 schools in the country and about 30 lakh students are being taught moral values and patriotism in these schools. Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi and the Haryana Government have implemented many schemes to enhance the social status of the people. He said that during the last seven months, the State Government has made efforts to put the system on rails which was derailed during the regime of previous government. “In the next five years, we would set up Ram Rajya in the State and the people would themselves analyze that the previous regime was not less than   Ravan Raj”, he added.

Patron, Vidya Bhararti Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sansthan Mr Brahmdev Sharma said that the country is heading towards change and betterment. The Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal are working with the spirit of service. He said that though the State Government could provide assistance and resources, cooperation of each and every individual is must to make the society educated.

MP Dr. Raj Kumar Saini said that Gita School is one of the best schools in the country. Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Mr Krishan Kumar Bedi also spoke on this occasion. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
