Haryana Government ordered a prima-facie inquiry against two construction companies

Chandigarh, November 20, 2015: While taking a serious note of the complaint received against two construction companies regarding fraud in the name of Stamp duty charges, the Haryana Government has ordered a prima-facie inquiry into the matter.

            While stating this here today, a spokesman of Revenue and Disaster Management Department said that the department has received a complaint against M/s BPTP Limited, M-11, Middle Circle, Connaught Circle, New Delhi and Holiday City Centre Private Limited Company, Faridabad.

            He said that in the complaint received regarding fraud committed by M/s BPTP Limited, M-11, Middle Circle, Connaught Circle, New Delhi, in connection with construction made by “Princess Park”, BPTP, Sector-86, Faridabad, it has been alleged that there is a big scandal by builder company adopting the malpractices to extort money from the innocent buyer using the name of government Stamp Duty Charges and by this practice the company has collected more than Rs 15 crore from the flat holders. It has been further alleged that the company is cheating the Government treasury by playing fraud under well planned trick for wrongful gains. Similarly, some more complaints have also been received regarding the same issue, he added.

            The spokesman said that a separate complaint has been received against Holiday City Centre Private Limited Company, Faridabad wherein it has been alleged that the company has paid less Stamp Duty and Registration fee on the documents which were executed by the Company. However, the company has collected or acquired the higher requisite fees from the buyers, he added.

            He said that an opportunity of personnel hearing has also been given to these companies to produce documentary proof in their support and the matter is under active consideration of the Department.

            Meanwhile, the government has cautioned all builders to give immediate possession of flats or houses to purchasers and also get the registration done in their favour or otherwise, stamp duty collected by private builder should be returned to the owner, he added. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
