Haryana Government amends the Haryana Right to Information Rules, 2009

Chandigarh, April 7, 2016: The Haryana Government has amended the Haryana Right to Information Rules, 2009 and the new rules would be known as the Haryana Right to Information (Amendment) Rules, 2016.
While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Administrative Reforms Department said that a notification to this effect has been issued.
He said that as per the amendment, an application for obtaining any information under Sub-section (I) of Section 6 would be accompanied with a fee of ten rupees and would ordinarily not contain more than 500 words excluding annexure, address of the State Public Information Officer and that of the applicant. No application would be rejected only on the ground that it contains more than five hundred words.
The spokesman said that for providing information under Sub-section (I) of Section 7, the fee would be charged from the applicant at the rate of two rupees for each page in A-4 or A-3 size paper, created or copied and if information is to be provided on large size of paper than that of the specified above, the actual cost price of such a paper would be charged. He said that for providing information under Sub-section (5) of Section 7, the fee would be charged from the applicant at the rate of fifty rupees for providing information in a floppy, fifty rupees for providing information in diskette and if information sough is of such a nature, which is contained in a printed document of which a price has been fixed, then the information would be provided after charging the price, fixed for that printed document. However, if only an extract or page of such a printed document is asked for, then a fee of two rupees per page would be charged.
He said that no fee for inspection of record would be charged, if such an inspection is made for one hour only. However, if inspection is made for a period of more than one hour, a fee of five rupees would be charged for every subsequent hour of fraction thereof. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
