Haryana CM urged banks to give maximum loan to people

Chandigarh, July 8, 2015: Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal today urged banks to give maximum loan to the people for the effective implementation of State Government’s proposed new Industrial Policy 2015 and said that the Government would also assist  the banks.

Mr Manohar Lal, who was speaking after inaugurating the 300th branch of HDFC bank in the State at  Ramnagar in Karnal today.

He said that the dream of Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi was to ensure that all families in the country have their own houses by the year 2022. For this, the HDFC bank could play a significant role by providing loan on lesser rate of interest.

The Chief Minister   said that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi had launched Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. Under this scheme, villages were being adopted by MPs, MLAs, Officers and Institutes where developmental works were being undertaken. He said that his aim was to develop  about 6500 villages in the State as model villages. He urged the HDFC bank administration to adopt maximum villages through their branches under the scheme.

He said that government is giving every facility to the needy   through banks under Pradhan  Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. The HDFC bank should also come forward and participate in this ambitious scheme. As many as 15 crore bank accounts have so far been opened under the scheme. Haryana Government would disburse 100 per cent pension through banks in which banks would play a major role, he added.

The Chief Minister also congratulated the management and customers of the HDFC bank for having yet another branch.

Zonal Manager of the HDFC Bank, Mr. Govind Pandey also spoke on this occasion.

Those present on this occasion included Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment  Mr Krishan Kumar, MLA Assandh Mr Bakshish Singh Virk, Mayor Municipal Corporation Karnal Mrs Renu Bala Gupta and other senior officers of district administration. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
