CII Organises Punjab Industry Interaction with US Ambassador to India

CII on Thursday organising Punjab Industry Interaction with US Ambassador to India at Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, October 15, 2015: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized an Interaction of top Punjab based industrialists with Mr Richard R. Verma, United States Ambassador to India at Ludhiana to explore various US- India bilateral trade opportunities.
 
While sharing his views  Mr. S S Bhogal, Chairman, CII Punjab State Council said that, “ As Punjab Strive to attract investment in sectors like Healthcare, Biosciences, Aerospace,  Defence, Education , Electronic, Hardware &  Agro-processing,  all these sectors offers plethora of opportunities for our American friends to explore business  opportunities.  CII through such a focused interactions or meets , intent to establish synergies between Govt of Punjab’s  Progressive Punjab  initiative  with US". 
 
"I am also pleased to share  that this is CII’s second interaction with Mr Richard Verma, US Ambassador to India in a short period of time and this  testify  the important & significance  that Mr Verma accord to our  relationships and also appreciate  CII’s efforts to further strengthening  the US & India ties".
 
While interacting with participants Mr. Richard R Verma emphasized on enhanced US – India cooperation in the fields of Agriculture and Agro- Processing. Since Punjab is  primarily an agriculture state, it may play a lead role in this. Cooperation in the field of agriculture will be beneficial for both the countries. Agri & Agro processing sector in Punjab may be a core area of interest for many US based companies to further plan their investments. 
 
Mr Sandeep Jain, Vice Chairman, CII Punjab State Council, during his address highlighted the need for sustainable & long term partnerships between the 2 largest democracies in the world and this   will also help in unlocking various opportunities   for both county in bilateral trade through various social & cultural exchange program.  Such interaction shows the sense of confidence among industries & will surely help businesses to create opportunities for both US & India.
 
Mr Neeraj Satija, Chairman, CII Ludhiana said that Punjab known for its entrepreneurial zeal  and as a hub of bi-cycle, sports goods, tractor & farm machinery, light engineering, textile, industries. With the strengthening of ties between US & India all these sectors will be able to explore business opportunities in various other sectors. 
 
Earlier the day, CII also facilitated Mr Verma’s visit to  HERO Cycles Limited, Ludhiana. 
 
The interaction with Ambassador  was well attended by top businessmen from regions like Mr Pankaj Munjal, Chairman, Hero Cycles Limited, Mr Dinesh Oswal, Managing Director, Nahar Spining & General Mills Limited, Mr Onkar Singh Pahwa, Managing Director, Avon Cycles Limited,  Mr. J R Singal, Managing Director, Eastman Caste & Forge limited and many other prominent businessmen from Punjab region.
