Zirakpur, September 5, 2015: With great enthusiasm ; students of Gurukul Junior celebrated Lord Krishna’s birthday.
The programme began with a Bhajan. The students were dressed up as Krishna, Radha,Meera,Balram, Nand, Arjun, Yashoda, Devaki and many other mythological characters .Students spoke on the importance of Janmashtmi in the Hindu culture. A play showcasing the main episodes in Sri Krishna’s life was enacted by the students.
Along with Janmashtmi ,Teachers Day was also celebrated today. Students were dressed up as various great Rishis & Gurus of ancient India who played a major role in teaching their disciples to achieve the highest. Great teachers of all times also remembered on this occasion.
At the end , Dr.R.K Walia , Director Academics praised the teachers for their hard work and told the children to follow the right path as told by Lord Krishna in the Gita.
