Jalandhar, November 1, 2015: To generate sensitivity in students regarding their role in matters of global importance , United Nations Day was celebrated in Cambridge International School on October 29. The main aim of this celebration was to create awareness regarding matters of world peace and how ,as responsible citizens , students can contribute towards the same.
Founded on October 24, 1945 by the President of USA Franklin. D. Roosevelt, UN comprised of ‘Big Five’ countries ie USA, UK, China, Russia and France. The main aim of this organization was to maintain international peace and security and also to curb the arms race. Today the member nations are 123 with 2 observer states.
To celebrate the day , an introductory speech regarding the history and foundation of UN was delivered .It was followed by an enactment which included impersonation of famous personalities quoting speeches from the past. A musical performance by the Vibrant Five, the School Rock Band added flavor to the celebration .
On this occasion, Chairman of the school Mr. Ajay Bhatia, Deputy Chairman Mr. Deepak Bhatia Chairman Learning Wings Mr. J.K Kohli, Dr Brijesh, Mr. Nitin Kohli, Academic Director Ms Deepa Dogra and Principal mam Ms. Kiranjoth Dhillon congratulated the Social Studies Department for organizing such an important event in such an elaborate manner.
