Chandigarh, December 10, 2015: Issuing a clarification pertaining to the provisions of ‘Punjab Municipal Act 1911’ and ‘Punjab Municipal Corporation Act 1976’, Government of Punjab declared that there is no restriction on filing a revised self declaration return on property tax.
Giving the information through a press release, a spokesman of the Local Self Government Department informed that if per chance a person has not been able to file a proper return and is desirous to file a revised one, he can do the same.
He said that as there is no specific provision in ‘Punjab Municipal Act 1911’ and ‘Punjab Municipal Corporation Act 1976’pertaining to filing of self declaration return on property tax, so this clarification has been issued to dispel the doubts of people. He added that while filing the revised return, the terms and conditions regarding interest/penalty etc. will remain intact.
