Government advices farmers to treat against insects in wheat crop

Chandigarh, February 26, 2015: Government suggests to the farmers of state to treat carefully against several insects that hitting wheat crop. As with any crop, wheat has several insect pests that may reduce yields if not effectively controlled in the field. Wheat crop has been affected by insects like Aphids, Armyworms, Hessian fly, and Cereal Leaf Beetle.

Punjab Agriculture Minister S. Tota Singh said that prior steps should be taken to avoid the loss of wheat crop in the state .It has become a frequent question in wheat cultivation while experts has already given advices to avoid problem of small black insect.

The usages of spray to accumulate the wheat crops should be familiarised with the farmers. The sprays containing chemicals like fungicide, propiconazole, cetazinasole.

These varieties should not be grown mainly in sub-mountain areas and it could be better to understanding proper timing of spray.

An appeal to farmers to take appropriate steps to avoid upcoming risky hitch in wheat crops.
