Lok Sabha Polls 2024: 437 notices issued for MCC violations; admn resolves 1043 complaints on C-Vigil as of now 

With the district administration committed to hold free, fair and transparent general elections, the administration has issued 437 notices against model code of conduct (MCC) violations in the district since imposition of MCC on March 16.

Ludhiana, May 23, 2024: With the district administration committed to hold free, fair and transparent general elections, the administration has issued 437 notices against model code of conduct (MCC) violations in the district since imposition of MCC on March 16.

Further, the administration has also resolved 100 percent complaints received on C-Vigil app. The officials stated that the administration has received 1397 complaints on C-vigil as of now. 354 complaints were found frivolous or not related to elections, while 1043 complaints have been resolved. 
 
District Election Officer (DEO) Sakshi Sawhney highlighted the need to maintain a peaceful and conducive environment for campaigning and called upon parties to avoid any activities that violate the model code of conduct. She said that the administration is committed to hold free, fair, transparent, and peaceful general elections and any violation of MCC would be dealt with strictly.
