Cleaning Campaign being organised by GNDU.
Amritsar, October 13, 2015: The Guru Nanak Dev University organised a Cleaning Campaign from Railway Station to Main Gate of the University. This campaign was organised by the NSS Unit – 1 & 2 of the University under the Swach Bharat Abhiyaan initiated by Govt of India.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A.S. Brar inaugurated this campaign in which more than 100 volunteers of the various department of the University. Prof. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registrar, Dr. Rajesh Kumar & Dr. Bimaldeep Singh, Coordinators NSS Unit 1 & Unit 2 were present on this occasion.
Prof. Brar while flag off the campaign said that Guru Nanak Dev University is always committed to the welfare of mankind. He said that this cleaning campaign is great service to society. He said that all citizen should understand their duties towards the society which is the need of hour. He appreciated the initiative of Prime Minister of India for giving new slogan 'Swach Bharat'.
During this campaign student volunteers gave the message to clean environment by cleaning area from railway station to Main Gate of the University. Students were also of the view that everybody should understand their responsibility and participate in this type of campaign. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
