Global Expert Talks on Cancer Nanomedicine

Chandigarh, June 9, 2016: Head Pharmaceutics and Nanomedicine Division, Florida A&M University, USA, and a Visiting Fellow, Centre of Advanced Studies in Pharmaceutical Sciences Professor Mandip Singh Sachdeva today delivered an expert lecture on “Cancer Nanomedicine:Contemporary Trends and Futuristic Directions” at University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University. The talk was organized by PU Pharmaceutical Sciences (PUPS).
Professor Sachdeva accentuated on the stellar importance of chemosensitizers in the current chemotherapeutic regimen as demonstrated in multi-resistant cell lines.
Portraying the enhancement of uptake of drug nanoparticles by the tumor cells, he successfully proved significant reduction in the tumor propagation.
Earlier, Chairperson, UIPS and President PUPS Professor Bhupinder Singh Bhoop introduced the speaker to the audience sharing his brief antecedents.
Around 60 faculty members, post-docs, research scholars and M.Pharm. students of UIPS and UGC Centre of Excellence in Nano Biomedical Sciences, and beyond attended the lecture. The speaker was presented with a memento and a robe of honour by the PUPS.
