India’s rich history has been a witness to many courageous kings and queens who with their bravery and courage have defended their empires. From amongst these many brave historical stories about courageous emperors and empresses Zee Action bring to you the historical war film ‘Rudhramadevi’ on Saturday, 29th October at 8 PM. The movie is based on the life of Rudhramadevi one of the few ruling queens in the history of India and the only woman to rule over Andhra.

Starring Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubatti, ‘Rudhramadevi’ is a lavishly shot film with high octane action sequences and awe-inspiring stunts shot in beautiful locations of Hyderabad. This movie was also shortlisted for the Oscar Award in the Best Foreign Language Film Award category. The Baahubali stars, Anushka and Rana Duggabatti once again come together in this action packed war movie to set the screens on fire with their sizzling chemistry. To add to this already talented line up, we also have Telegu superstar Allu Arjun and veteran musician Illayaraja. A lesser known fact is that the actors had to take special training from professionals to perfect horse-riding, sword fighting and the dance form Shiv Tandav.

The story unfolds as the ruler of Kakateya kingdom, Raja Ganpati Dev raises his only daughter to be a fearless fighter in order to keep the enemies away. Invasions and losses force Rudhrama to take up the role of a fighter and save her dynasty from the shackles of defeat. Will Rudhrama be able to live up to her father’s expectations and protect her throne from the ruthless invaders?
