Ludhiana, August 14, 2015: Every new phase of life brings with it lots of thrill and excitement. Similar emotions were witnessed at the Freshers Party organised at Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana wherein the new students received a heart warming welcome by their seniors. Mrs.Rajinder Kaur, Director, G.S.Radiators. Ltd. was the Chief Guest on the occasion and the college principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Narinder Sandhu extended a hearty welcome to her. Students of various streams presented an entertaining cultural extravaganza comprising beautiful dances, melodious songs, engaging skits etc. The hallmark of the day was Miss Freshers contest and the celebration reached its zenith when the new students, clad in elegant attires, sashayed down the ramp with poise and grace. The brains of the participants were put to test in the question answer round and after qualifying all these rounds, Kavleen was adjudged Miss Fresher and Kiran and Jaspreet Kaur were declared first and second runners up respectively. Mrs Rajinder Kaur crowned the winners and presented them tokens of appreciation. The Dance team of B. A. I bagged the first position and the Giddha team of the Dept. of Commerce clinched the first position in the Talent Hunt. The Skit performed by the students of B.C.A. I clinched first prize. Principal, Dr (Mrs.) Narinder Sandhu commended the hard work put in by the participants who left no stone unturned in making this day a special one and added that such events instill a sense of co-operation and togetherness among the seniors and juniors. She also appreciated the active role played by the in charges of Central Students Association, Mrs. Rajeshwarpal Kaur and Mrs. Tajinder Kaur, in organising the Talent Hunt. S. Ranjodh Singh, President, Ramgarhia Educational Council said that such contests, undertaken in a healthy manner, are crucial to the over-all development of the students. Thanks giving speech was given by Mrs. Rajeshwar Kaur and the programme ended, leaving behind some sweet memories that will be cherished lifelong.
