Four week Orientation Program begins at PU

Chandigarh, May 1, 2018: A four-week Orientation Programme for newly inducted College and University Assistant Professors was inaugurated in the Human Resource Development Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh today.
HRDC, earlier known as Academic Staff College was established in 1987 and has conducted 20 Orientation Courses and 33 Refresher Courses in different disciplines since then.
Professor Meenakshi Malhotra, former DUI, Panjab University motivated the participants and highlighted the need to ensure adequate availability of quality faculty in higher educational institutions and ensure capacity building at all levels of employment. She further added, “Such programmes create an enabling atmosphere for the teachers in the higher educational institutions to devote themselves to research and innovations”.
As many as forty nine Assistant Professors from Panjab University and the colleges of the Tricity, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Kerala, Tripura, Maharashtra and Bihar belonging to twenty four disciplines are attending the programme.
