Four Teenagers Drowned In Ferozepur

Ferozepur, May 10, 2016: In a heartrending incident, four youth belonging to Shanti Nagar area of this border city got drowned in Gang Canal near Village Bareke today afternoon. As per information available eight teenagers identified as Vishal son of Tarsem, Prince son of Vidya Lal, Love son of Davinder, Ishtbir Son of Dilbag Singh, Dev Kumar, Anish, Paras and Abhi (all from age group 15-18), all residents of Shanti Nagar, Ferozepur City, had gone to Hussainiwala Memorial today afternoon. During their return they decided to take a bath at Gang canal near Village Bare Ke. While Dev, Anish, Paras and Abhi refused the idea, Vishal, Prince, Love and Isthbir decided to continue and jumped into the canal. Though, the water of the canal was not flowing but unluckily they went into swampy area and drowned.

All the other frightened kids reported the incident to the ill-fated parents who were not even aware what has happened as few of them had told their parents that they were going DC Office to collect the result of “Career Training Programme Test” in which they had appeared few days ago.

The news spread like a wild fire and a pall of gloom descended the area. Senior officials including Deputy Commissioner DPS Kharbanda, Sandip Singh Garha, SDM, Ferozepur, Manminder Singh, SSP, Ferozepur and Kamal Sharma, former State BJP President reached the spot. Meanwhile, the bodies of the ill-fated teenagers were recovered.
